About me

Why the name?

The name of this blog comes from Franz Kafka’s novel The Metamorphosis. Sounds pretentious? Its one of the few pieces of fiction I have read. But, nothing captures the anxiety of modern society as accurately as Gregor walking up to the realization that He has missed the train. Your house could be burning down and the thought goes through your head what am I going to tell my boss?

Who am I?

After Marx, I don’t think capitalism can be justified. But, I think we really need to think what we are doing at the Socialist side of the politics to make headway. So in that sense I am a Marxist with a focus on questioning old dogma and building up on new experience since Marx.

My intention with this blog to put my ideas down so they can be criticized and evaluated. Sort of get out of my head. As you can see, there aren’t a lot of places where these topics can be discussed together.

I will post a blend of essays, media analysis and personal experience.
